Justin Burtz, MPAS, PA-CCertified Physician Assistant
Justin started his current position as Dr. Hugate’s physician assistant at Colorado Limb Consultants in September of 2010. Prior to this, he gained extensive surgical experience working in neurosurgery in South Denver for six years. He also worked in a very busy general surgery practice in South Dakota for the six years prior to that. He has vast experience in the operating room as well as in the clinic setting.
Justin grew up in Winner, South Dakota. As a young man, he graduated high school with Highest Honors and was a Reagents Scholar, as well as becoming an Eagle Scout. He attended South Dakota State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. He was on the Dean’s List each semester that he attended SDSU and was elected a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Justin then attended the University of South Dakota where he earned a certificate in Physician Assistant studies and received special recognition in Surgery on the NCCPA exam, scoring in the 96th percentile nationally in 1998. In keeping with his passion for always learning, Justin earned his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) in 2004 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Justin and his wife live in Lone Tree with their faithful and destructive chocolate lab Lola. In his free time Justin enjoys playing drums, hiking, golfing, skiing, and all the great outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.
